3D-FLAIR MRI in Ramsay Hunt Syndrome

Abstract

|
We present a case in which a Ramsay Hunt syndrome patient who showed simultaneous signs of facial palsy and vestibular neuronitis displayed high signal intenstity in facial nerve and vestibulocochlear nerve through Three-dimensional fluid attenuated inversion recovery magnetic resonance imaging(3D-FLAIR MRI). With literature review, we report 3D-FLAIR MRI is a good correspondence with neurological examination for patients with Ramsay Hunt syndrome and therefore can be utilized as a useful diagnostic tool.
